My Ride or Die!

If you have know me for say the past 13 years, there has been a one constant in my life; my amazing wife Meera. Just when I think I know her, she makes me fall in love with her all over again. One of my past posts talked about family being a great motivator when you may not be feeling motivated. In that post, I was really only talking about when we need to get motivated what is the one thing that is consistent and can fall back on time and time again. It was in many ways a very one-sided, even selfish way of trying to continue moving forward. That in itself is not necessarily a bad thing, because it can be extremely powerful and uplifting to an individual. What my wife communicated to me this weekend, and what I totally underestimated and pretty much left out the picture, is when the belief/faith in what we are doing is expressed by your motivating factor.

This beautiful person looked me in my eyes and said, "Anthony, I believe in you and know that you can accomplish anything you want." To hear that coming from my wife was euphoric. Openly sharing with people what I am experiencing is way out of the comfort zone for me, and pretty scary as well. She said it with conviction, passion, and confidence. There was strength in her tone, that I wish I could duplicate daily. Her faith in me sparked a confidence and reassurance that has been missing with regards to writing these blogs. The conversation we had about why I started doing this was fresh, honest, and humbling. Not for a second did I feel like she was judging me or testing my commitment, rather understanding that what I was doing was new to me and that she had my back. The timing was impeccable and gave me a path to talk to her about the reason I wanted to begin documenting, some of the fears I had, as well as the opportunities that I had in front of me.

I know that the emotional connection I have with my wife is a constant motivator, but this affirmation from her put to rest all the anxiety and doubt I had about myself. I don't know if she realized how much it meant to me (maybe she did) to hear those words, but know that all of us can have the same impact on someone else's day, mood, and motivation by just being positive. My wife has motivated me to not only continue on with this website, but also challenged me to be more positive towards other people. I challenge you all to do the same. You never know who you might inspire. #motivation #inspiration #rideordiechick
