Consistency is the Key

Happy New year! 2019 is off to a roaring start and there so much opportunity out there for all of us. I hope that this is the year that everything comes together for you. So many folks are stepping out of their comfort zones and challenging themselves to be better than they were the day before. Undoubtedly, that includes me as well. New year, new me, financial stability, more consistency with my health and wellness, growing in my faith, being a better husband, father, and son; are all my goals for this new year.

What I have noticed about my life; whether it was going to church, work, or my love life; being consistent always trumped any over the top motivation I have experienced. Admittedly, I love motivational quotes, clips, pictures, music; you name it I am on board. My personal favorite feeling is right before I go to the gym and somebody has the audacity to put on some DMX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh that's it for me, I am hitting the weights until I damn near pass out. That is a great feeling for me.

Unfortunately, what I have come to recognize is that unless I harness that same intensity and purpose on a day to day basis, I will not get the results that I want. Yes, those minutes and hours feel great, but without a consistent workout regiment, it is mostly all for not (I can't be the only person guilty of this).

Much easier to say, than do, but holds truth in all facets of life. Consistency has always yielded the best results when I was going to the gym on a much more regular basis. What I can attest to is that I have felt more confident and secure in my faith and career when I did things on a more consistent basis. Reaping the benefits at work fell very much in line on how consistent I showed up ready to take on the tasks for the day. Having full and rewarding relationship with God, has always been at its highest when I have consistently sought it out and been disciplined day after day. The relationship between my wife and I, is no different. Working on being a better husband, friend, father has always been driven on how consistent I have been in working on those things that will strengthen our bonds.

Getting to my goals this year are going to be reliant on a singular factor. How consistent can I be and sustaining it throughout 2019. My conversations, focus, and drive are all going to be wrapped around this theme. I encourage everyone and anyone to follow through on this as well, I am sure this is going reap some amazing rewards for all of us. Let's get it!!!!
